Every night in the game, up to 3% of players will receive random events. These can be either positive or negative. These events will happen to a random settlement of these players. If the event is a resource-gain event, resources are added to/reduced from the resource's production for the last 5 hours. If it is a stored-resource event, resources are added to/reduced from the currently stored resources at the time of the event.
The following is a list of events, with short descriptions and the results of each event:
- Event: Rain (positive)
Message: "Thanks to the good weather conditions this year, the yield of our farms is much greater. My Lord, our food production was X% richer tonight!"
Result: +15-50% more Food gained.
- Event: Drought (negative)
Message "Due to the heat this season, the yield of our farms is significantly lower. My Lord, the food production was X% poorer tonight."
Result: -15-50% less Food gained.
- Event: Treasure (positive)
Message: "God is obviously kindly disposed to you, my Lord. The villagers found an ancient treasure nearby! You have gained 50 coins."
Result: 50 coins added to the player's account.
- Event: Plague (negative)
Message: "My Lord, the plague that is torturing our lands took more victims last night: X"
Result: 10-30% of a random unit dies.
- Event: Mercenaries (positive)
Message: "My Lord, we've managed to hire some passing by lumbermen. Today, we will be able to gather X% more wood!"
Result: +15-50% Wood gained.
- Event: Deserters (negative)
Message: "My Lord, the lumbermen we hired have gone to work for another ruler - there's no one to work in the forest, so our wood production is X% lower."
Result: -15-50% less Wood gained.
- Event: New Vein (positive)
Message: "My Lord, we have wonderful news – new iron veins were found in your lands. Today, we will be able to extract X% more iron."
Result: +15-50% more Iron gained.
- Event: Strike (negative)
Message: "My Lord, we have bad news for you – the miners are unsatisfied with the low food rations they're getting, and today they've organized a strike. As a result, we've gathered X% less iron."
Result: -15-50% less Iron gained.
- Event: Merchants (positive)
Message: "My Lord, merchants from distant lands have passed by. We've managed to sell them some of our goods - the deals were very profitable and we've gained X% gold"
Result: +15-50% more Gold gained.
- Event: Repair (negative)
Message: "My Lord, the roads in our lands are in poor repair, and the peasants are not satisfied. We have had to fix them, costing us X% of our gold."
Result: -15-50% less Gold gained.
- Event: Matchmaker (positive)
Message: "My Lord, the father of your son-in-law/daughter-in-law wants to honour you. Today a caravan is arriving, with many gifts and gold."
Result: +15-50% more stored Gold.
- Event: Dynasty (negative)
Message: "My Lord, the time has come to honour the parents of our son-in-law/daughter-in-law – this marriage is very important for our politics. We'll send them many gifts and X% of our gold."
Result: -15-50% less stored Gold.
- Event: Old Equipment (positive)
Message: "Our troops must be well prepared, my Lord - we've replaced the equipment of your army with better armour and weapons. There is X% iron left over and it has been stored in the castle."
Result: +15-50% more stored Iron.
- Event: New Equipment (negative)
Message: "Our troops must be well prepared, my Lord - we've replaced the equipment of your army with better armour and weapons. This will cost us X% of the iron in the castle."
Result: -15-50% less stored Iron.
- Event: Terrain (positive)
Message: "My Lord, we had to cut down the small forest on the Southern side of the castle, as we needed more land for crops. The peasants did a great job and now X% more wood is stored in the castle."
Result: +15-50% more stored Wood.
- Event: Gates (negative)
Message: "My Lord, the four gates of our castle are old and rotten. For your safety we've rebuilt them, costing us X% of our wood supplies."
Result: -15-50% less stored Wood.
- Event: Hunt (positive)
Message: "My Lord, your woods are full of game and there's plenty of fish in the rivers. Yesterday's hunt was very successful and now we have X% more food in the castle."
Result: +15-50% more stored Food.
- Event: Feast (negative)
Message: "The feast for your birthday will be remembered for years, my Lord. There wasn't a guest left unsatisfied - but that cost us X% of our food supplies."
Result: -15-50% less stored Food.
- Event: Master (positive)
Message: "The master that came to our castle yesterday is very famous, my Lord. He wanted to prove his skill by helping us construct a building."
Result: +1 level of one of the following buildings - Gold Mine, Iron Mine, Lumbermill, or Homes.
- Event: Fire (negative)
Message: "My Lord, there was a fire in our castle. We've managed to bring it under control with minor losses – but one level of our buildings was destroyed."
Result: -1 level of one of the following buildings - Gold Mine, Iron Mine, Lumbermill, or Homes.
- Event: Heir (positive)
Message: "Oh happy day my Lord, your beautiful wife gave birth to an heir, may God bless him."
Result: +1 child.
- Event: Taxes (negative)
Message: "My Lord, the taxes have been too high recently, the food isn't enough, and the noblemen are feasting and have forgotten to take care of the people. The loyalty of the peasants is X% lower."
Result: -2000 loyalty (if the loyalty of the castle is less than 4000, this event won't have any effect).
- Event: Spies (positive)
Message: "The enemy never sleeps, my Lord, but our troops are careful too. We've captured X enemy spies and converted them to our cause - they serve as Quickwalkers now."
Result: +X Quickwalkers.
- Event: Old Warrior (negative)
Message: "In the last battles we've lost too many experienced warriors, my Lord. There's no one to teach the new recruits. The level of a random unit type has been lowered to X."
Result: -1 upgrade level of a random unit.
- Event: Veteran (positive)
Message: "Your glory as a great leader is known all over the world, my Lord. You shall see your enemies all the more clearly."
Result: +20 days VIP status.
War Reports are seen after you engage an enemy. The results of each battle will be presented to enable you to shape your future strategies.
