There are 6 type of march to choose from in Utopia Kingdoms - you can improve your marches by motivating them, using coins - see the Premium Features page for more information.
A trading march is initiated through the Marketplace. Trading marches are used to transport resources between settlements, either to sell or buy goods from other players. Note that players with less than 10,000 experience may not transport resources to other players.
You may assist another player by sending out some of your army to their castle. Your units will then take part in the defence of the player's territory - though they can not be directly commanded by that player. Reinforcements may be withdrawn at any time. You may send up to six armies to another player's castle at any one time, if that player is a member of your clan - note, however, that only the first army to arrive will be able to defend. The other armies will "camp" at the other player's castle, and if your first army dies or is killed off, the first of your camping armies will take their place.
A supporting army needs food to survive, and after 24 hours it will begin to consume food in the castle it is reinforcing. One unit of food is required for each unit of population the army contains, per hour. The entire army will die after 72 hours without food - 30% on the first day, 20% on the second day, and the final 50% on the last day. That is, per hour, 1/24th of the army will die, based on the percent for that day - e.g., for each hour on the first day 30% of the army divided by 24 will die - totalling 30% over 24 hours.
Units die in the following order: Pikemen, Swordsmen, Macemen, Axemen, Shortbowmen, Longbowmen, Crossbowmen, Quickwalkers, Light Cavalry, Heavy Cavalry, Cavalry Archers, Warmages, Arcanists, Fireslingers, Stormcallers, Race-Specific Units, and finally, Noblemen.
It is also possible to send friendly marches to your own castles, to permanently "transfer" them to a new location.
The standard form of attacking another player - see the page on attacking for more information.
You can send your army to patrol to another location and then return. As your army cannot be attacked as it travels, this can be a useful way of keeping it safe - in case someone lays siege to your castle.
After a battle you may send your units on a scavenging mission, to gather resources from the battlefield - soldiers who die in battle will leave behind a certain number of resources, depending on their training cost - or to heal wounded soldiers. Healing soldiers is only possible if there are more than 200 units left wounded, after the battle. The number of soldiers you can heal is based on the level of your Hospital. Any soldiers you heal will then join your army - and healing soldiers decreases the number of wounded soldiers left on the battlefield. See the page on scavenging for more information.
Espionage is carried out by your Quickwalker units - see their description for more information.
